CARDIOPATIA CONGÊNITA ASSOCIADA A ENCEFALOPATIA
CRÔNICA NÃO-PROGRESSIVA: IMPLICAÇÕES ODONTOLÓGICAS

Neste artigo foi relatado um caso clínico de paciente portador
de cardiopatias congênitas e encefalopatia crônica nãoprogressiva
em decorrência de hipóxia neonatal. Esse grupo de pacientes,
como conseqüência das cardiopatias, pode apresentar riscos
de, por exemplo, endocardite infecciosa, sangramento excessivo, crise
hipoxêmica e cárie. É de extrema importância
o conhecimento clínico dessas repercussões para a elaboração
da conduta odontológica adequada a esses pacientes.

CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE AND CHRONIC BRAIN INJURY:
DENTISTRY IMPLICATIONS
This study reported a clinical case of a patient with congenital heart
disease and chronic brain injury induced by neonatal hypoxia. This group
of patients can present risks such as endocarditis, excessive bleeding,
hypoxic crisis and carie as consequence of the cardiopathies. It is important
the clinical knowledge of these repercussions to establish appropriate
odontologic approach for these patients.
